Painting Stripes

Very Shortly I am going to be painting the stripes on my fenders and doors and quarter panel Any advise anyone can give me on adding the stipes after the clear has already been painted on? I know that I am going to have to scuff the clear ,but do I need to completely remove it from the area I am going to paint. I used PPg paint since there is a window to go from base to clear. I did not want to chance if the base was dry enough to tape, Now when I do paint the hood I am going to paint both colors before I clear them because I plan on using a heat lamp tp speed the drying of the first color.

personally, i would do the stripes on the hood the same way as the rest of the car so they have the same look/feel on the entire car.

as for painting them, lay out the stripes with QUALITY masking tapes, sand the clear (don't remove it, just the shine), and spray them.
