Paint for Carb Linkage etc.

What paint/color should I use for the carb and throttle linkage on my 66 442?

I've bead blasted them and they are bare metal now-

Thanks-

I have used Eastwood's Carb Renew Bronze and Silver to good effect. It resists gasoline and vapors well - better than general purpose paints - and the colors look quite decent. Be sure to pay attention to the ambient temperature and humidity requirements because it does make a difference.

The carb on my main page www.everyday-performance.com was done with Carb renew.

Another option is to use some Marine Carb paint. Marine engines are enclosed in a confined space and need a good protective coating so the paints are exceptionally tough. I have bought some from wholesalemarine.com and used it to good effect.

Whatever paint you choose, let it dry completely before exposing it to fuel

Thanks for your reply, I ordered a can from Eastwood and we will see how it looks.

btw, you rebuild Rochester's? Do you re-color your rebuilds or paint them when you restore one?

I do rebuild rochester carbs, and specialize in the Quadrajet.

I offer plated/rechromated finish for the people who want the best/original finish. We can achieve lots of different looks/colors. See my Facebook page for some pics of the results we have achieved. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everyd...91958290844413

I also will use the Eastwood Carb Renew for people who request a good looking carb but dont find the the chromating necessary.

I will do straight functionality rebuilds with plain-jane as-is finish as well.

whatever the customer is asking for.

Thank you very much.

The plated/chromated finishes are a new addition for 2014, and they have been very popular.
