How should it be done?
How should it be done?
I purchased the fender fillers for my '77 Cutlass that fit between the end of the fenders and the rear bumper from Autobodyfillers on Ebay. The new flexible plastic kind, not fiberglass and not the original hard/stiff plastic OEM type.
Anyway, how should I go about painting them or having them painted. I don't have any paint equipment myself and really don't think rattle can is the correct way to do it. I want them to look right. I don't think most production paint shops will be interested in doing a small job like this. As I understand it, their bread and butter is insurance work, the bigger the job the better for them.
So, any recommendations?

I would go to place that specializes in automobile paint. You will have to get flexible primer. Which you can get in a spray can. They can mix for you paint in a spray can that will match your color on the car. Plus they now all the guys that paint for themselves and point you to someone if you want someone else to do it that has the equipment to do it with a spray gun. Main thing is using the flexible primer.

X 2 Getting advice from a good auto paint store
I'm a paint moron and I've had very good luck getting advice from the guys who know their stuff. They were able to mix a Firefrost gold dye for my 69 H/O headrest stripe and sell me a 1/2 pint
If ya want I'll go by one today and ask 'em. I'm used to acting stupid.

X2 on Jesse's offer, or X2 on paint shop - they can mix all you need in a spray can. hang em spray em admire I like Finshmasters http://www.finishmaster.com/locations.cfm
So these are the parts. Is there a way to tell what type of plastic they are or do I need to contact the seller and ask? I mean, is ABS all the same?
That's the tuff part for me "What kind of plastic is it and /or does it matter"
Well, apparently according to Joe it does matter and I don't doubt that he is correct. Seriously, I can deal with a slight mismatch in color or tone, and with some imperfections in the finish. What I don't want to have to worry about is the paint not lasting as long as the original that is on the car now. I think there is where the solvents/primer/paint comes into play.
I think Jesse will be getting a box from the UPS man in a week.

What kind of guarantee do you offer on your work?
