Here are a couple low quality pics. Better ones can be found with a search of the archives here.

If you are doing this yourself, here is a tip I can offer. Go to Harbor freight and buy their 49 dollar laser level. This comes with a magnetic "L" mounting bracket and shoots a vertical and horizontal line. It has both a self leveling mode and a manual mode if you want to shoot something on an angle. It is perfect for stripe layout work. You may think, It's just a straight line, anyone can do it. Just try it sometime, there is nothing easy about it...unless you have a decent line to follow.

Neat idea!

How do you set it up to shoot the lines for the hood?

In the middle pic you can see the Lazer level on the top of a tall piece of angle iron. (the level has a magnetic base) The angle iron is just clamped to a stand I had in my shop.

The line in the hood is the vertical leg of the level. I had to get the level high enough to get the line on the horizontal surface of the hood.
