Dash Paint ?

Does anyone who is familiar with original cars know if a 1970 442 should have a textured or suede finish to the dash paint. Most resto shops just do a straight semi- gloss paint. My original Buick has this style of textured paint finish on the dash. Not the dash pad but the metal dash. Thanks

Flat finish. Not textured, however it could appear to be a little textured but it is not a textured paint.

The paint chip charts available on-line list the flat and semi-gloss paint codes on the back. The Product Information Manual (aka Assembly Manual) shows what parts of the dash were flat and what parts were semi-gloss.

Was the car built on a friday? Unless Buick resto experts can say that's an intentional feature, I'd expect it's either the paint failing, or the guy on the assembly line didn't have his gun set up right.
I've made lots of "textured" parts while learning how to handle a gun. Spraying primer with too much air will make it rough.

The suede finish is a judging standard for first gen Camaros. That is how they came when new. I think it is part of the rash of safety standards that came out in 1968 or 1969. So the dash is a flattish black with what is called a suede texture. On the convertibles, they did away with the chrome header panels. My Buick has the same textured dash. That is why I was asking about original 442's.
