Brass-look paint?
Brass-look paint?
Does anyone know of a brass-looking paint in an easy-to-get spray can?
I am restoring a 1929 Emerson fan and the blades are steel, painted with a "brass" paint.
I tried using a gold paint I had in the garage, but is dull, looks too gold and not brassy.
The gold looks closer in the photo than in real life.

Any ideas for something economical and easily obtainable? (Not looking into custom mixed automotive paint).
Is brass-plating a such thing?
Thanks...

Rust-Oleum and Krylon both have brass rattle cans. I have used the metallic Krylon colours before and they are pretty good depending on the application.
I haven't used the Rust-Oleum stuff but I have used a lot of their other stuff and for something like the fan blades that may be what your looking for.
