Bitttersweet or Kashmir Copper

They look identical to me. I think this is Bittersweet. I can't seem to find a good picture of a 71 Cutlass in Kashmir Copper. I know there is a pic on Wild About Cars. That color looks a lot like this one. Nevermind the distraction of 70 clamshell mirrors on a 71.

Both of the cars pictured are too light to be Sienna. (which is accurately described a bronze metallic)

Kashmir Copper wasn't offered on the Cutlass or 442. It was a Toronado color only.

Quite a few colors were the same, with different names for different years and models.
An automotive paint supply store can confirm this, as the formula will be the same.
Usually the paint alfa/numerical codes will be the same, too.
Difference in the name, only.

According to the 1971 Cutlass color chart on Wild About Cars, Bittersweet was color code 62 and Kasmir Copper is 65. http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...aldisplayed=26

The first pic I posted is what I believe to be Bittersweet. I was looking for confirmation of that. That color looked identical to second picture which was Kashmir Copper. That picture came from the link above. It was taken from the 1971 sales brochure and it shows a 1971 442 with 1970 mirrors which is bizarre.

Anyway, the original question still is : Is the first picture an example of Bittersweet or Kashmir Copper?

Thanks

You probably could call a paint supplier and confirm a difference, or not!!

I would agree bittersweet. That was my first car and I remember that color vividly.

What are these color's names ?

I have a 71 CS ragtop sitting in the garage that has the paint color close to both cars in the first 2 pics . Without a direct comparison it is hard to say which is the closest but it is not the more burnt orange like the metal in the interior photo.. On my car, the trunk lid underneath is the lighter burnt orange color like the color of the metal in the interior pic interior . Can someone tell me the color of the dash and seats . The car was body worked, and repainted. I have seen Kashmir (lighter from color stamps)and Bittersweet but the car with the black top is even darker ? I need some sun visors this color and don't know the color name ,,and probably not possible, but door panels too , mine are sun burnt but still presentable, but overall the car is a good survivor . It is from Southern California, it is solid and has air. I believe it got punched in the face before I got it and was repainted , I don't know the year of the grill but it has the horizontal bars like in the 4th pic . Any clarification and info shared is more than appreciated Thanks

the grill in the last picture is a 72 S grill. The core support may have been changed as well as the 71 core support doesnt fit well w the 72 grills

So sorry for the rookie question. Why is that? Are the grilles deeper on a 71? Just curious.

Hey guys this is the color I was curios about ? The car was bought in 84 . It got the clip replaced I do believe because it has a 72 grill This was my best friend in the photo(r.i.p) in Huntington Beach. The interior and dash are just like the photo with the door open. That car appears to me to have burnt orange paint . I think mine did originally also . The underside of the trunk lid is burnt orange . I was young and didn't know much when I bought the car, and there were not a ton of ragtops that I found very easily. It is sitting in my garage in Indiana covered with dust .

hey no.1 just saw this.

im not sure whats different, as they use the same hood and some 71/72 grill trims can interchange. I do know the 72 S and Supreme grills fit best w the correct 72 core support.
