Windshield wiper question

72 supreme, are the windshield wipers supposed to be hidden under the chrome piece at bottom of windshield or do they ride on top?

The wiper blades slide over the wide stainless trim at the base of the windshield and park below the rear edge of the hood.

Define "visible".

They park below the rear edge of the hood. From the front of the car you won't see them. If you stand next to the car and look down between the hood and the windshield, you will see them.

If you are asking is this like a Corvette where there is a door that opens at the base of the windshield and the wipers go underneath, that is NOT the case.

Take a pic and post with the hood down from the front of the car. Take another with the hood up. Then we can tell you more. If you have the wrong motor, it might look the same as the right motor but the wipers will not park as low. They should be "hidden" as much as any other 69-72 442 GS SS or GTO you see.

Does your driver side wiper arm have "2" arms or just one. If 2 then they are the hidden wipers & as stated should park about 1/2 way down on the large stainless trim piece at the bottom of the windshield. Pictures would almost instantly tell us what we need to know.
