Does the tachometer wire attach to the + or - side of the coil?
Thanks.

The tach connects to the same side of the coil as the distributor. This SHOULD be the negative side, assuming the coil is connected properly, but it is possible for someone to connect the coil backwards and the car will still run.

Thanks Joe,
I thought that was right. Guess that means something is wrong with my tach. I harvested this tach from a donor console that was in better shape than mine. I was not able to test it before I installed it. Something I can live without.
Want to take a crack at my wiper motor problem listed in the electrical section?

My tach had the same problem. It does go to negative side. I have since sent it out to WV along with the clock for repairs. Will let you know the outcome...
