Help me ID my Dad's Car?

I'm trying to figure out what type of Oldsmobile my dad had. Unfortunately I don't have a picture, so I'm going from memory. The car was red. Any ideas? That's my sense of humor.

The car closely resembles a '66 Delta 88. The car was 2 door. Limited chrome on the doors and side. The front end had a one piece grill. I remember the taillights being circular. I could be wrong about that as I haven't found any taillights on classic olds that are round. My guess is the model year was late 60s to 70-71. The car was all one color, not convertible, no vinyl top or anything like that.

Any help identifying the car is appreciated.

Just a WAG on my part, could be mid fifties if the tail lights were round but that is a big jump from a 50's to a 60-70's era car in style. Are you sure it's not a Ford of the 60's?.... Tedd

Well, no Oldsmobiles of that vintage had round taillights...

How about this? One piece grill? Check. Round taillights? Check. Looks like a 1966 Delta? Check - ish. Red? Check.

Let me also add that the last time Olds used round taillights was the 1962 model year.

How about a 1960 Pontiac... Also a one piece grille, round tail lights, and redish in color...

Wow

You guys are great! I love fan forums...

So the tail lights were PERFECT! for my grandfather's Impala station wagon. I'm not so sure that the tail lights were round anymore. I'm going to go with I'm 100% sure that it was an Olds. Forget the round tail lights. When I see the car I'll know that the tail lights are right. So that leaves us with a 2 door, one piece grill, not a lot of chrome trim. I totally agree that that Impala fit perfectly with the description that I posted. I'll send the pic to my sister to see what she thinks even though she's younger than me and wasn't that old at the time. For what it's worth, she thinks that the Delta might be too long.

Kind of hard to help when the memory is faulty...

Rather than playing "bring me a rock", why don't you go to Google Images and type in 1965 Oldsmbile Delta 88 and look at the pictures. If that doesn't work, type in 1966 Oldsmobile Delta 88, etc, etc.

And to help you narrow your search, 1966 was the last year that the full size Olds had a one-piece grill. Of course, ASSUMING it was a full size Olds and not a Cutlass...
