1963 Cutlass rear shock part #
Just a heads up...
After much searching and not wanting to spend $120 on a pair of rear shocks, I bought 2 Gabriel shocks, PN 81514. $19.99 at Autozone. They have the crossbar mount at the top, but are workable.
I cut one end of the crossbar off, drove it out the other side, used the sleeve from the old shock, some WD40 and put the old sleeve in the new rubber bushing from the top eyelet. It was a PITA getting the bushing and sleeve back in, but the trick was putting the sleeve about 2/3 of the way in, then using a vise to squeeze it all together. Still had to trim the rubber bushing a little.
Car rides great.
