Runs like a NEW car!

I just got my red 65 starfire back from my mechanic today. What he did:

-Tune up (plugs, wires, coil, cap and rotor, points and condenser, fuel filter)
-new vacuum advance
-fixed the choke (holy crap my car starts so easy now when its cold!)
-Oil change
-rear diff service
-front brakes and seals
-fixed my power antenna
-replaced the shocks
-new fan clutch

I think thats about it. It starts so nice now. It stops so nice now. It drives so nice now I thought it drove pretty good before but now its much better!

I do need a water pump and steering box since they are both leaking. I will wait to do that stuff in the springs. Its getting close to time to put them up for the winter

Hope to wash it up in the morning, and take it to some shows! Its supposed to be 80 and sunny all day so I plan on enjoying it!

bill was about $1k but there was a lot of small stuff that I left out too.

For a car thats been sitting for a LONG time, I don't think thats too bad!

and yes, Ray is a GREAT mechanic. He's half an hour away from me. I've tried 5 local mechanics in my town and they all are pretty bad in their own respect. Makes me HAPPY to drive half an hour to someone that knows what he's doing.

I can't find many mechanics down here who are really in tune with older cars either. Where is this fellow? SML area isn't terrible far away to take a car if the work is done right.

We had a guy here who was fantastic but he and his wife split and Todd took off for parts unknown. I miss him.

tell him Justin sent you. He has my blue hardtop now. He can be a little slow at times (take a couple extra days) but its done RIGHT.

I need to find someone like that in the western PA area ... i have front blinker, antenna and heater issues. I just got my '62 starfire 2 weeks ago so i will tinker with it myself until my mechanical abilities are exhausted hehe. I'm glad your old girl is running good!!!

It's Hard to find a mechanic that can work on a new car!I always thought they should give you a card that you get punched each time they work on it.Pay for 3 attempts and the fourth attempt is free.
