Does anyone know anything about this 87 firenza hatch?

Rare? Yes. Valuable? No. Looks to be FWD; possibly based on the Cavalier platform? I don't remember these at all. It would make a cool racecar.

Oh I remember them, nothing special back in the day, just cheap car, Cavalier, Firenza, Sunfire, and a Buick version I can't remember the name of. All over the place in the 80's. It looks kinda cool in a nostalgic way....

I guess it was the Firenza. I was thinking H body, which was a Starfire.

991 base hatchbacks (and 783 GT hatchbacks) built in the 1987 model year, so the were rare when new. 1987 was the last year for the Olds hatchback body style. I've got a 1988 Firenza wagon with the OHC motor and five speed, and it's actually a fun little car to zip around town in. I got mine for free. Value will be pretty low. Body parts are non-existent. Yes, it's the J-car platform, same as the Cavalier.

I agree I’d love to put a small block in it or something crazy. It’s only got 90 horsepower haha. But rare≠valuable?

I'd say around $500-1k if it runs well, the tires are good, and the a/c works. It's a hoopty, nothing more.

Exactly. A grand Max!

Didn't Alfred E Newman drive one of those?

I was around when those were new sales. Ugh. Watch the hatch hydraulics, if they are weak, the hatch will clang you like J J Watt. Might be a piece of broom stick in the back, that's why.

Also does anyone know where I can find build sheets or anything that will help me work on the car or just even know more about it? There is so little online.

Look on Ebay for a factory service manual set, They aren't very expensive.
