Air Breather

What color is the air breather on a 61 f85 supposed to be mine is chevy orange..is that correct?

Sand it down and paint it any color besides Chevy orange. Post pics if you can. I'm sure someone knows what color it is supposed to be.

It should be orange-ish red, more red than Chevy orange. It's probably faded out some after nearly 50 years.

Fusick or other reputable Olds vendor will have the correct "Oldsmobile Red" paint. It was used on many Olds engines and aircleaners from 1959-69. Sometimes, once in a very long while, you'll find some old stock spray bombs at a NAPA or somewhere like that, but you takes your chances that it will spray.
