'62 Cutlass Fuel tank sending unit

Hello

I am not having any luck finding a new tank sending unit for the car.

Is there an after-market part out there that works in the '62 Cutlass?

it looks like a 63-64 Buick Riv unit might work.. Anybody have any info on it?

Thanks

No one sells new ones. I've seen NOS originals on ebay - you just need to keep looking. There are vendors who can rebuild your original also.

Are you sure the sender is bad? I was convinced mine was bad until I pulled the gauge pod and cleaned the contacts in the connector. Suddenly, everything in the dash worked, including the fuel gauge.

With the ohms check, mine is flakey.. I am going to install EFI on the car and need a 3/8" vs the 5/16" suction tube.. So I, was hoping I could find another and mod it OR find one the will work that already has the 3/8 and return line

Thanks for the info

Nice find, though apparently they only sell the single line version and not the two line version for cars with fuel return.

My tank actually has a return line in the top of the tank.. I did not know there was another version with the return in the sending unit

Are you sure the other line in the tank is not a vent? The Jetfire had two lines and I believe any Cutlass with A/C had it.

My 62 wagon with the 185 HP Cutlass motor (and without A/C) also has a return line on the sender.

Off topic but do you happen to have the little T fitting that screws into the Fuel pump for the fuel dome? I need one of these and cannot find anyone with an extra. This was only found on the two line system and the dome was to help aid in a continued forward motion of the fuel. I am missing the T fitting for our automatic Jetfire.

Let me see if the Jetfire parts car still has that part on it. I'll have to get back to you.

Yes, I have the return line as noted inthe service manual on the top of the tank with a factory inlet fitting..

I have a vent line right up near the gas cap..

At least that is how I understand it..

Is this incorrect
