1986 Olds Calis 2.5 liter

Im here for some info=I need badly =im an old mechanic -had this car for many years now =rebuilt the engine & now some years later - I need to adjust the spark timing! There are no vacumn lines to distributor=so im guessing its computer controlled? Now my question?= I cannot get the timing light showing # 1 cyl. timing even close on timing marks. Im just guessing that i may have to disable the computer by=???? jumping some wires in the test connector under the drivers side dash??? which ones?? I just want to make sure before i try this & kill the computer!!Anyone done this or have ant info on how timing is set?=prpoer procedure? I have a manual yet does not get specific on doing this in this model. Thanx for any help =waiting here for an answer?
