1986 olds calais 2.5l wont start

ok i started it in the drive way drove it up to flat grond and shut it off. i proceeded to begin instalation of my new cd player. when i finished i started the car and tested it to make sure everything was working befor puting the dash back together all was good. put the dash back together and went to start it turned the key it cranked a few times then i let go. it dident start. so i tryed again no start. took the dash back out inspected everything. it all looks to be in place i mean i never unhooked anything in there other than the radio. tryed again still no start. i thohgt i flooded it. so i rolled it back down the hill to its parking spot and let it sit there for about an hour and tryed again still no start. what coulda happened here? what should i look at? this is my first oldsmobile.

First you need to see if you are getting fire to the distibutor & plugs, if so check for fuel.

Also, I would ask you where did you grab your 12V from? Did you go anywhere near the fuse panel or ECM?

i bought a wireing harness that u wire up to the aftermarket radio and plug into the stock radio clip. i have to wait till tomarrow to start checking things like spark and fuel cause its dark here now. the satelite radio i installed behind the glove box. power is also ran to the wireing harnes for the radio.

You might have blown the ignition fuse, or a wire slipped off a terminal. I do not have the wiring diagram for your car, but if you have the service manual their should be a diagram that will show you how to work back from your coil to find the problem. Perhaps someone else will see your question and has such a munual if you don't. Good luck

You may have inadvertently blown a fuse during the installation. Check all the fuses.

is there another fuse panel other than the one mounted inside the car? all the fuses in the panel inside the car are good.
