1964 Starfire

Here are a few pictures of my 64 Starfire that I purchased last Fall.
It does still ned a bit of work before I can take it on the road but I am still having a lot of fun just working on it so far.
I am looking forward to getting it out later this summer.

Nice looking Starfire. Convertible cruising is the fun payback for all the work ...

You really got a beautiful car! Hope you got in on the road by now. I just want to know if the engine got the "right colors"? It looks fine with the red engine and chrome air cleaner. I´m planning to restore the engine of my car maybe next summer. It would be nice if you got more piqtures of your car from the inside.

Thanks,

I did manage to get it on the road last August and have been driving it quite a bit this summer. It is running pretty good so far but there is always improvements to be made.
I think that the engine should be red instead of orange but the previous owner painted it that color. If I ever decide to take the engine out I will take care of that.
Your car looks very nice as well. It must be a very rare car where you are I bet.

Hi, yes my car is very rare here...

Glad to see that you´ve got your car on the road again. I´ve got some problems myself this year. I finally got the problems with the steering done. So now in the beginning of september I can go cruising again... I live in the north of Sweden so I can count on snow in october.
Yes my car is rare here. I think mine is the only one running. There is one more Starfire convertible 1964 in south of Sweden, under restoration. My car has never been restored in the engine so that will probably be the next step. It runs good but there´s a lot of white smoke...
Have a lot of fun and cruising the rest of the summer!

I had quite a bit of white smoke when I got my car too. I thought that it might be a head gasket or something bigger but after I took the intake off I found that the intake gasket was damaged so I replaced both gaskets and that fixed it.

I really hope it´s not more than changing a few gaskets for me too! I´ll find that out next spring. I think it runs very good and smoth anyway. Thanks for the tip!
