Soon to be installing the rear windshield on the 72. The butyl type doesnt seem to give much once the glass is set down and dont want to have trouble installing the rear trim. The old stuff that was there measured under 1/4 inch. Dont know if to use the 1/4 ribbon tape or 5/16?

 

I've always used the 5/16" tape. The bigger problem is ensuring that the glass is exactly centered in the opening. Use tape for alignment and the glass setting blocks if you have them. If the glass is not centered, do NOT try to force the trim on.

Please don't ask me how I know this...

 

Cool, have done glass before just seems if the ribbon tape is too tall and thus the glass sits up higher, you have to fight to push the trim down so the clips take hold.
