Taking Rust off Protect-o-plate?

"Small" rust issue on the protect-o-plate, any ideas how to take it off? Or just leave well enough alone?

Taking a rag and rubbing some Ospho on it might work.

Evaporust will chelate the rust and leave behind the metal.

Results with using diluted vinegar over a few days:
( I was testing using something more abrasive in the bottom right there)

i have one like that. i was going to try and find someone that had a laser rust removing machine but i haven't gotten around to it yet, at least the vinegar lets you see the numbers a little better. thankfully mine was embossed onto the previous page and was not distorted by rust like yours. good luck
