Suspension

Hey Guys!
I haven't been on here for a while so bare with me while I re-adjust. The suspension on my 72 needs to be done, I want to purchase piece by piece if possible or a set if I have to. I know nothing about the front end, what the parts are meant for, but I do know what the car to have more control and feel tighter. (If that makes sense) I am positive my bushing are worn and need replacement I have absolutely no clue where to start and what would be a good fit for my car, I am not looking to go with the best brand but I am also not looking to go with the cheapest. I would prefer to piece this out so that I can get what I want and make it work financially. I want to be able to drive my car long distance and get on the freeway and it's just not stable enough for this. Can someone possibly point me to a website that would help me understand what I am purchasing or where I can get started with a purchase?

Thank you guys!

If you have never worked on the front end of any car, I would farm this out. The front springs are full of kinetic energy waiting to kill or maim someone not knowing how to safely remove them.

I will not be doing the work. I want to purchase the pieces to have the work done.

You may want to look for an old established shop in your area . Possibly run by an old timer that is familiar with these cars .
It is best to have the shop furnish the parts . Most shops will tack on extra labor charges if they don't make any money on parts .
And most shops will not guarantee a job done with customer supplied parts .

I rebuilt the front suspension and steering on my car using all MOOG or McQuay-Norris parts from the local auto parts store. Factory replacement rubber bushings, tie rod ends, center link, ball joints, and springs (I used MOOG 5536 springs as they are stiffer than the originals for better handling, but still give a comfortable ride, and the ride height is the same as before).

As said, if you are having a shop do the work, it may be best to let them buy the parts. Hopefully they will let you specify which parts you want.
