speedometer

My speedometer in my 1970 Cutlass Supreme bounces. I have a new cable on it what else should I look at?

could be worn speedo gears in the trans or maybe the gauge head mechanism itself is worn - you might first try pulling the gear housing the driver side of your trans for an inspect.

You said new cable. If it’s a new insert, it is possible the outer cable housing is worn. And did you lubricate the new part?

Brand new cable. Didn't check lube in it but its over a foot too long. Ordered a shorter one we'll see what happens with it.
