Replacing Ignition
Call a reputable, experienced, qualified locksmith. He'll(she), will have the proper tools to take care of that. You could try it yourself however you may damage someother valuable parts or have to buy some single-use tools.
The Olds chassis service manual shows how to do it, no big deal if you can use basic hand tools. I just did my Vista and a 2004 Astro Van recently, and that had an airbag, almosty exactly the same inside though.
The specialty tools are a steering wheel puller and steering column lockplate remover and you can buy those at most parts stores for under 15-20 bucks or they loan/rent them, the Zone and Advance do I think? Good tools to have anyway and a good investment to buy them, the manual too.
You pull the wheel and lockplate then get the turn signal switch out of the way a little and it's right there, push in the retainer tang and it pulls right out.
The linked article shows how to fix the good old loose tilt problem but also explains how to get the switch out in the process.
Also linked to a cool exploded view to study up on.
Get the pivot pin remover if you have loose tilt, those are 5-10 bucks at Sears hardware, they should have those other tools too.
