Removing clock delete plate bezel

Removing clock delete plate bezel
I want to remove my clock delete plate in my 68 Cutlass Supreme to install a tach. Saw the idea in another thread. I see it move side to side when I try to move it from the front. What is the proper way to remove the lens and bezel?

There is no latch. Like Yellowstatue says once you have the two screws out, it just pushes out from behind. You may have to really wiggle it though as the screw heads that hold the clock delete to the bezel want to interfere with the edge of the dash pad. If you don't have an assembly manual, go to www.wildaboutcarsonline.com and sign up for a free membership. Then once you are logged in do this:
Go to "The Library" (top menu), then "Download Factory Published Materials", then "Oldsmobile", then "Assembly Manuals & Inspector's Guides", then "1968", then "1968 Oldsmobile A-body Assembly Manual", then "Section 1.3". You can then see what you are dealing with.

Thanks guys. Layed upside down on my bench seat and sqeezed my hand enough to unwind the screw. I wanted to remove the clock delete place to install a (cheap) dash tach. I got this Sunpro Mini Super Tach for $22 shipped. That was my only expense. I think it came out looking good! Will install sometime this week. Thanks again.
