my 65 olds dynamic 88 restro is done!!!

its only taken three years to do, but its finally done. it has came a long ways from three years ago. When I brought it home it had spent the last 20 some years sitting in the barn collecting bird crap, raccoon crap and mice nests. but here she is. 1965 oldsmobile dynamic 88 convertable.

Now that's flat out, one Sharp Car!!! I've got a 66 Jetstar 88 that I love. But I kinda' like the front & rear of the 65's better. Yours is just Awesome!

Nice to see another big car return to it's former glory! My hat's off to you!

Awesome car!! You did an excellent job! Your father-in-law will be proud as punch when he gets home from Houston hospital to see your completed task. This will be the icing on the cake to make him want to really recover fast from his open heart surgery!! Absolutely great job for the first time ever at restoring a car!!! You can be proud of your fantastic workmanship!!!!!

I was pretty lucky mine was pretty much complete when I started. I had to have a lot of things rechromed, but it was all there. Depends on what you need. I have been through several junk yards looking for things is a matter of fact im going to one tuesday. there is a 65 olds delta 88 hard top there that has a real nice dash pad and all the chrome is in pretty good shape. i plan on grabbing for back up parts. I went to junk yards, i bought things out of USA Parts, fusicks, yearone. I found that some of the mechanical parts you can find at yearone under the same year only in a cutlass. they have a tech support at year one that can cross ref your car to make sure it is the same, but gm pretty much used same stuff in all cars across the board in the mechanical end. You can watch ebay. I found a web site called oldparts.com this guy has alot listed. Hemmings is another good place to look. another place surprisingly was my local auto parts store. I could still get a lot of stuff for the motor and transmission from there. what are you looking for? I might be able to point you in a certain direction

Fantastic looking resto.... Anytime you're in the neighborhood feel free to drop and and we'll go for a cruise.
Bet it's a real head turner and conversation starter. What's the history on the car?

had it in a car show yesterday. got alot of good response. it is the only 65 dynamic 88 conv in my area. so people were really impressed. everyone loves the color. i here more about that then anything.

amh55-not sure what you mean by the bird nest?

65topless- it has the 425 two barrel. i had to pull the motor wed. frost plugs were leaking. cleaned it up and painted it and put it back in thursday. you will love driving it. it just glides down the road. let me know if you need anything.

allan r- it belong to my father in law. he is 2nd owner. was always going to fix it up after retierment. retired and then got sick with cancer. i brought it home 3yrs ago and got started. he got to see it and go for a ride in it saturday for the first time. he got emotional but smiled from ear to ear the whole time.

Gorgeous! I just love the mid 60's iron, and it always nice to see one looking as nice as your's. Well wishes for your father in law. Do you have any pics or stories of the process to share, I personally think that would be interesting to help us guys that are still in the process
