So now that I am ready to install the manual floor shift console mounting brackets, I am not clear whether I need to weld these to the floor pan or use a different mounting method. If these are supposed to be mounted with screws, I am inclined to use rivnuts and machine screws as I did for the lower boot (and boot retainer) for the shifter. Neater installation.

Any info appreciated.
