i use glue traps.

 

DON'T use all the same kinda trap. Rotate them around and use peanut butter on the UNDERSIDE of the trip mechanism. They are smart little rascals.
Dryer sheets don't work as well. Get some PEPPERMINT extract and put it on cotton ***** and put them in an open ziplock bags, inside the car. The ziplock bags will allow you to remove the strong peppermint smell later.
I would put one bag under the dash.

 

I've had 0 luck with drier sheets. In fact mice have drug drier sheets into my air cleaner and built a nest out of them one winter.... Kill the bastards works best..... Tedd

This stuff is like mice crack, They actually will eat into the package to get the stuff and die

 

I take a small piece of cotton ball and work the peanut butter into it so it is saturated. Hook this under the bait retainer so the mouse can't pull it out easily. Get's em every time.

 

Be wary of any poison, they can eat it and then crawl in somewhere and die. You'll be lucky if you can find the body before it starts to stink.

 

 

 

 

 

The Tin Cat Live traps are fun. They'll get in there for peanut butter and die. They can hold multiple. Best yet, if you don't get them, they get hungry and eat each other, thunderdome style!

 

Or you can get one of the electronic type traps. Sold around here at Tractor Supply. A little pricey but will kill the mouse on the spot. Powered by dry cell batteries, as soon as the mouse tries to get in the trap to get the bait, ZAP and the mouse is dead, electrocuted.

 

I had this same problem in my '61 when I first bought it. There were over 20 mice living in it, mostly in the trunk as there was some blankets in there. Sucked up most with my shop vac as I was pulling out the contents. Caught a mother actually having babies when I surprised her, sucked them all up, little guys never had a chance.
I still had two left I could not trap using glue traps, kept eating the gourmet meal I had for them (peanut butter) Time after time they dined and got away.
Did some research, and decided to buy an electronic trap from Amazon that electrocutes them, powered by either batteries or AC power. Caught them both the very first night, fried before they could even get to the P butter.
I highly recommend this method.

 

Mice lives matter!

 

Been using the peppermint extract/cotton ball system for years, in the car, the garage and the basement. I put it in old yogurt or "hoodsie" cups. Buy it on ebay, not CVS. Much much cheaper.

 

What's nice about the tom cat poison is once they eat it they get very thirty and leave the area for water. Soon as they drink, it' over. Have never found a dead mouse in car/barn/garage, great stuff. Don't let pets get to it!
