Interior mirror cable

Hi guys.

I would like to know what function the interior mirror cable has on the 1971 Oldsmobile 442.

Optional map light I'm guessing.

Does the bottom right (from inside) have a switch or at least a hole where the switch used to be?

Show us a photo of the bottom of the mirror, I assume that will include the map light.
