How to Cap AC Lines

I have a 1966 Toronado. My compressor hose assembly leaks and I want to send it off to have it rebuilt. What is the best way to cap off the ac system on the car while the compressor hose is off the car? I want to be able to drive the car while I don't have the hose on it. I need to cap the compressor, condenser and evaporator. I can remove the POA and store it off the car. I also need ideas on how to best store the POA. Thanks.

You just need to keep water/moisture/dirt/spiders and the like out. Lots of electrical tape will work or plastic wrap then tape. You just need a good seal...

^^+1. I have my poa out for replacement and I used
the blue painters tape. The car drives just fine with it.

I've had a compressor stored for 30 years with two wine corks plugged into the ports and held in place by the original steel plate retainer. Does that count?

If I wanted to get really fancy, I'd suggest going down to the hardware store and buying a few rubber corks just the right size, and stuffing them in the ends of the lines.

Saran wrap and electric tape work great, you should also find a new receiver dryer and replace it while the system is down, if you do replace it don't install it until you are ready to refill the system .

And you really don't need to remove the poa. Just cap it off.
