Help?

Hello there, I have a 1970 Cutlass Supreme and everything runs great BUT when I am driving it, there will be a "clicking sound" when I push the gas pedal down and my car shuts off, as if the whole car died. Then it starts back up on its own shortly after and runs fine. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen. It happens at the worse times (like when cars are coming at me and I can't move) I have no idea what this could be and I can not find a fix anywhere. Does anybody here know what this could be? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy!

Welcome to the site. It could be a lot of things. Does it have an electric fuel pump, later model distributor powered off a relay, an alarm system, etc?

Thanks for the reply and welcoming bud. Not a electronic fuel pump, but it is new. No alarm system, and no I do not have the later model distributor powered off a relay.
