Heater door spring

'68 Cutlass S with a/c
Trying to get all the air blowing to the correct locations , I've replaced dried out hoses , repaired broken tabs on the ducting for the retaining bolts , got all the vacuum working . But the heat never blows on the floor . From looking at the manual , I've figured out there should be a spring to return the door to the heat position , but I don't know where it should go or what spring I can replace it with . The Manual is no help .
Anybody got any pictures , or suggestions ? Any help would be great .

If nobody else comes up with it I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow. I know there's a spring on the top of the box under the dash. I don't know if that's the one you need or not. Sorry, it's been too long since I tinkered with this part.

IF the 68 heater box is like the 72, then this pic's for you...

Thanks ,
I did just, like 5 minutes ago , after a week of staring at the manual picture , turn it over and it looks just like the pic you posted . I think they try hard to make the pictures bad , but when you see it they make sense .
So I pulled the floor defuser off again and saw the slot in the firewall side of the box for the other end of the spring .
I found a return spring on an old Toyota carb that worked .
Thanks for the pic .
