Flexible top radiator hose on my 1964 Dynamic 88 is dangerously close to the power steering pump belt. As I said in the title, "I knew this was going to happen". Last time I was at Fusick I asked Mike if he had a top radiator hose, and he put it on the counter, but I was working on the fuel pump so I left it there- that was a week ago. Today I had to go back to Fusick for that hose. If I didn't live less than an hour from East Windsor I'd be pissed. I'm still pissed- traffic through Springfield on route 91 sucks in the afternoon.

At least it happened in my driveway... flex hose is inclined to rub on your power steering on a 1964 88. Others have reported the same... get the factory hose if you can.

Yeah, I hate self-inflicted wounds too.

Replaced the hose today, and tuned the car- set the timing and idle- fast idle and standard- adjusted the carburetor idle mixture screws. She's purring! And, no leaks from the radiator hose (that's a plus)

Similar event happened to my sister back in 1974 after she just bought a new /6 Plymouth Gold Duster, only involving her bottom hose - about 1k miles after purchase apparently a lower pulley wore a hole thru the bottom hose which must have been clocked wrong during the factory install - she was doing about 60mph on a road trip in MD when the motor blew from the coolant dump. The Chrysler dealer it got towed to had to replace the motor under warranty. Car ran like a top for the next 25 years on that replacement motor, at which point she donated it to a neighborhood kid who was taking auto shop at the local HS.
