Classic AC Parts & Work!

I have an "A.R.A." brand aftermarket underdash AC unit that was installed when the car was new, on my 64 F-85. Well the fan blower motor started working intermittently, then eventually ceased to function. Although the AC was kicking on ok. I called Vintage Air in Texas with no help. I called Classic Auto Air in Tampa and they told me to go to Catlin and Sons right here in Jacksonville, to have it dismounted and sent off to Tampa for refurbishing. Takes about 2 months. Well I went to Catlin and Sons and by golley they have the biggest inventory of older AC parts in the world. And they had all the A.R.A. internals right there. Installed a new motor and squirrel blower for $217 and that includes labor. Try finding that at your local AC dealer. They serve the world via internet. They also have virtually every mounting bracket made, which is often the hardest part to find. This is by no means a commercial, just thought someone might find this informative if looking for an obscure AC part.

This is good news. I also have a ARA installed in my Cutlass and I was concerned where I was going to find parts should I have any problems.

Thank you for posting this information.
