I need help decoding a 1955 Olds 88 VIN. I've searched the web and have come up empty. The VIN is:
557M16005
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Its just the basics, so here it goes 557M16005.........55=1955 7= 88 Series M = built at the Lansing plant 16005 = The number car that was built .. I am pretty sure the first starting numbers for the VIN began with 01001
