Smile 62 Olds Grounding wires

there is a small ground strap bolted to the chassis just below the upper control arm on both driver and passenger side. They are obviously body to engine ground. Got a feeling where they should connect to the engine but want to be reassured by those of you more in the know than I.

Nope. They're in the correct location. There should be a similar one from firewall to engine block.

The ones you've found are more for radio noise suppression than anything.

Thank you for your reassurance. What I really should have asked is do they mount to the valve cover at their other end. They are bolted to the chassis but are not bolted at the other end.

They should be connected to the upper control arm itself. One end to frame, the other to UC arm. My guess is car has had UC arm bushings put in and the ground straps got overlooked on installation.
