Have an 80 442 and 86 442 with power windows. My passenger window on the 80 goes down a little bit then stops making a grinding noise but does go back up. Would the 80 have a power window regulator tape as on the 86???????????
Having a hard time finding that repair tape.

The 80 and 86 did not use regulator tape. They use a scissors/gear arrangement to make that happen. Sounds to me like the windows need some re-alignment and maybe greasing at the joints and roller mechanisms. If windows are making a grinding noise when operating, that's never a good sign. You're going to need to take the door panel off and figure out what's going on in there. The 1980 should have a better motor than the 86, but if it's old and weak, it may not be strong enough to overcome any binding when it goes down so far. Which could be a good thing since you don't want to increase your chances of further issues.

Good luck with that. It's doable, but window adjustments can be a complete PITA. Check out some youtube videos on G-body window re-alignment. There are several.
