Window rollers

65 442 power windows:

I need to replace the window reg. rollers on the rear quarter windows.
These are the three rollers that attach to the frame that holds the glass.

The old one's are riveted on. The new one's came with a pin that is supposed to work like a rivet. I tried "mushrooming" the pin in a vise with the smallest cone I had from a puller set and ruined the pin.

Has anyone ever changed these?

Is it like this?
If so I got mine at OPGI and don't forget the little tool with two prongs.

Thanks for the reply 501 Pt. I think we might be talking about 2 different rollers here. I did get them from Opgi, they are called window guide rollers. They attach to the glass (frame).

The end away from the roller has to be mushroomed like a rivet.

It goes through the glass right? Can you post a pic of on installed before its peened over to see how much metal you have to move? I had to rebuild a hood release on my old 40 Ford street rod once. It had a similar rivet that had to be mushroomed over. I was able to make a cup welded to the end of a piece of rebar and hammerd on the rebar. The little metal cone peened it over just right. Of course being careful around new chrome is a little easier than swinging a hammer toward glass

LOL, thankfully not! The glass is mounted in a metal frame and the rollers are riveted on to the frame.

Stay tuned for pics.
