68 Shelby GT500KR unearthed

Well here is a good story on what not to do when you find a rare car and sock it away for 30 years...

When I got married in 1977, my in law's neighbor had a 1968 GT500 fastback in all black. he bought it new. The car had about 40,000 miles, and was showroom new condition. He wanted $4,800 for it, and at that time, it might as well have been $48 million.

Maybe the car would be in fairly decent shape if he had actually closed the door on that shipping container that he bought to store the car in.

Unless the container is stored in a controlled environment, the metal sweats easily with the temp changes and can wreck a car pretty quick. It literally drips down on the car. Of course storing a container in a building kinda defeats the purpose. I wonder how good it smells in the interior. Probably a toss up between mildew and mouse ****. Great plan for a cool car.

Yeah, it may not have kept the moisture out but did you see the piles of debris under the car? A closed container would have kept all those leaves and I would hope the larger rodents out.

Truly this guy is a D--- Head hillbilly and knows he has a great ideal on how to protect a car. Really sad to see what some do.
