What a good looking survivor. In my opinion these kind of cars are where the future of our hobby can go (although not the only direction). Survivor four door family cars or loaded top end four doors that are not and have not been that desirable in the past can be in the most excellent conditions for their age and often because they were "old lady cars" they may have been well cared for so there is a good maintenance history behind them.
That is really not a Mopar Dan. These kinds of cars should be preserved because they were the backbone of America. If I had a place, extra money and the car was not in Canada (way too many if's) I would be a buyer of this car. I think it would be a blast to drive and take to car shows. If you think people don't know what an Oldsmobile is, they will never guess what this car is. If they did, they would be showing their age.
Glenn you misspoke, that faux pas was committed by Jesse not me. I am old enough to remember Rambler. In fact, on a recent Youtube video someone found a Rambler hubcap and wondered what it was for. Many people made comments and speculated that it was for a Riviera, or a Rolls Royce, etc. I corrected them but got flamed, oh well I know and they don't...
My apologies Dan. See you bring Jesse to one meeting and I am already getting you guys confused. That is a funny story about the hubcap. If anybody thought about ti, they would know a Riviera or Rolls Royce would not have a hubcap, it would have a wheel cover.
Yes absolutely, I agree. I think a lot of younger people are not familiar with hubcaps today, even cheap cars can have stamp steel wheels that look more expensive, or the plastic full wheel covers that are held in by the lug nuts.
Ramblers were pretty reliable cars. Not many frills to go bad. I drove a 69 4 door Rambler American as a work car for a couple of years. I bought it from my CPA for $35. It was locked in 3rd gear. Easy fix and my buddies at work called me "The Ramblin Man". All Good.
Man, this is almost like when I take my old Beetle out for a drive...everyone has a "When I was young..." story about one or more Beetles they've owned!
That's a nice one! I had a '61 Classic 4 door years ago.
Straight six with push button auto, manual steering and brakes. Nice driving/riding car, wish I still had it.
Not afraid to say I'd do it again, be the only kid on my block to have one (again)
I had a cool two tone 59 Rambler wagon. I will see if I have a picture somewhere. It was a cool car. Very clean car. Push button automatic. Collector bought it from me and it went to Sweden pretty sure.
