Top Gear "Electric" episode

Just saw a Top Gear episode last night that included some pretty awesome electric Drag vehicles. It was impressive that with the electric they said they had 100% of the torque available at launch. I expected the ultimate electric drag vehicles to be fast but they were really fast. I recall the long dragster as turning about an eight second quarter. Is it the future?

Well when they build one that can cruise to the burger joint , drive 40 miles out of town to the track , run 8's at 160mph and then drive home then get back to me. Until then I'll stick with internal combustion engine for racing.

It doesn't seem at all too far fetched after seeing the episode. The new Camaro ZL1 was no match for the electric Tesla four door sedan that has a 260 mile range and is "governed" at 135. It's a program worth watching if you get the chance to see it.
