O4 chevy cavalier5speed 2.2 ecotech

Just installed new timing chain kit 5 months ago n now in every gear right before i shift up it has that loose timing chain noise. I took the timing chain cover off n. Rotated engine 20 full turns n found it lil loose in a half rotation.what would cause that

Did you replace both gears or just the chain. If you replaced the gears, were both gears all steel or was the upper gear coated with plastic like OEM gear. Maybe the oiler plug that squirts oil on the chain is plugged and not lubing the chain as it should.
