Thanks! Lots of coil relocation kits out there, haven't heard of any issues with the longer wires. Even heard of guys running the wires through the firewall with the coil pack inside under the dash.

I guess I'll find out.

Finished welding up the seat mounts and installed a set of Julianos three-point seat belts. Worked out a lot better than I thought. Having a "B" pillar helps......

I'll wait to install the rear belts until I figure out what the rear seat will be.

Hung the fenders and modified the a-arm openings to fit better with the new front chassis parts. Also made a change to the coil pack location and wire routing. I think this looks pretty cool. Kinda breaks up the big smooth firewall a bit.

Still need to find the right wire holders.

Been a while since last update, but I've been busy with a lot of little stuff. Built a console and welded in mounting tabs, got the shifter cable working, spent a bunch of time on the motorized door in the dash (almost done....), finally installed the front sway bar, installed the Holley accessory drive kit as well.

I also got the Old Air Products AC system mocked up, I just need to cut the giant holes in the dash for the vents

I will be taking the car to the body shop either next Sunday or the weekend after that. It's really up to me button up the last few mods. He's waiting for me so I have to get busy.

Pretty stoked to get to this step. Supposedly he will finish in 4-5 months. He does seem to move along pretty good on the projects I've seen at his shop.

 

Accessory drive brackets. These Holley pieces are really nice and you can't beat the cost vs other LS drive kits.

 

I decided to run the AC/heater hoses out the side of the cowl instead of through the firewall. Boxed in a bulkhead to hole the grommets.

 

Built brackets for the condenser and drier. Worked out nice.

 

Very impressive, lots of good solutions.

 

Ran the lines to the under dash brake unit. Holy cow, that was a lot of bends! I just need to make a cover to with some grommets.

Came out pretty good though. All of the lines are done but one section of fuel line that I will finish during final assembly (I plan to get some billet fuel rails so I'll wait for those).

 

Through the firewall.....

 

Am using Old Air Products Hurricane AC system and got everything mocked up but really didn't like the chrome vents sitting on top of the curved dash surface so I recessed them. This was way more work than I thought it was going to be, but they came out great!

They're all metal too.

Made from a piece of exhaust pipe.

I'll be using a dual center vent in the upper part of the console.

Test fit and trimmed

 

Welded up solid

 

Finish ground with nice radius.

 

Primered with vent installed. Shouldn't need much filler at all.

 

Looks like the car is going to the body shop next weekend! I have a few odds and ends to finish up this week, but it's pretty much ready now.

Can't wait to be sending update pictures of the bodywork being done!

 

Nice work on the vents. So I assume you are going to run a bulkhead through the firewall brake lines?

 

I probably missed it but how did you do the 90 degree connection from the pedal to the booster?

Couple different companies sell the set-up. I used the rig from Scott's Hot Rods.

You have to reinforce the firewall on most cars to take the pedal load.

For the brake lines I plan to make a thicker trim plate with grommets that will screw down onto the firewall to clean everything up.

Joe I highly suggest using bulk head connections through the firewall. Its just a better design and service down the road would be much easier. Your doing a great job on everything and really putting a fire under me to get my other stuff out of the way so I can work on mine.
