EFI Converion Fuel Tank
Just wondering what is the easiest set-up for running the LS. I know of Ricks $1200 tanks but i was wondering if anyone has heard or run the Eklerschevelle gas tank, its $545.

95-96 caprice tank, about $100 used. Get it with the pump/sender (0-90 ohm, compatible with the Olds gauge) and swap[ out for the Racetronix pump/wiring ($125).

Thanks Garys 68, do you have to shave down your frame rails at in to get it to fit. I have heard others do this and they were also cutting the entire floor pan out to get it up closer which i will not do.
Does anyone have the measurements to cut out of the trunk pan, just incase I cut before I get my Caprice tank.

Go to the A-body's swap guide , and in there you'll see a ton of stickies with info on swaps.
There's a sticky in there under "A-body Tricks" for the B-body tank swap most A-body guys have resourced from.
I followed the LS1tech thread and did what most of the A-body Chevelle guys did and cut my trunk
for the in tank pump assembly bulge in the B-body tank. I didn't want mine hanging any lower then
it was. As you can see, I got a little crazy and cut higher then I needed to, but it's going right back
in there in 1 piece so.
IIRC The total invested cost for the B-body setup for me was.
$50 Boneyard 1995 Impala tank
$200 Racetronix B-body pump kit Customer service sucks.
$100 New fuel sending unit. (which comes with a bulk head connector)
$10 for 1" wide metal straps from Home Depot.
$10-$20 for a flexible fuel filler hose from O'Reilly's.
$5 or $10 for the top of the fuel sending unit clamp down since my tank didn't come with it.
As for the frame rails , and the tank fitting between, I had to grind mine down a teeeeeeny bit to not have it rubbing.

Oh yeah, On the frame rails, I was able to push the tank forward, get on side in, the force the other side. The tanks have some flex. On the second install, I trimmed the lower edge of the last couple inches of frame maybe 1/4". The frame rail itself is actually wider on each side back there for some reason.

It's my brothers company, he's just getting started. He's doing an LS1 conversion into his '66 Nova. He was in the same situation as your are, not wanting to cut the trunk, or spend a ton of money.
