Custom 61 Olds Super 88 build up

I bought the 1961 Super 88 Coupe from 61SuperCoupe. It's currently undergoing a complete restification... Art Morrison Chassis with C6 front suspension, tri-4bar rear. I am keeping the body as stock as possible as well as a stock feeling interior, just modern drivetrain... I keep sending Chris updates as well.

Hey Mark!
Welcome to CO. Glad you bought the car. Since you're keeping Chris up to speed with this resto, get in a few more posts in the newbie forum and then start a thread on the 61 restoration with pics. It would be a great addition to the community.

I like that you're keeping the body/interior as stock as possible. If you need resto parts for it, there are aftermarket suppliers like Fusicks that probably have what you're looking for.

CO is a really good site. Don't mind some minor ramblings from time to time, it's part of staying sane and keyboard talk.

All The Best to you.

it's still progressing... slowly!

It's coming along. I plan to keep the car for a long time.

I moved the tread to a better place for all to see.

I won't tell any of the engine swap fans how much that looks the the beginings of a turbo LSx motor

Please keep us informed on your project.

Good idea on upgrading the chassis since all the old stuff is getting obsolete. How does a guy go about getting an Art Morrison chassis? Is it made to order? Do you take the car to him and tell him what you want or do you buy it prefabbed? Does he charge by the hour or job? Did it cost any body parts? The reason i ask all these questions is because i would like to do that to my 61 some day. Do you still have the old frame and parts? If so PM me I'm only about 40 miles south . Good Luck with it.

I'm now working on piecing the T-56 Trans together. There was an awesome article posted on building really stout T-56 here

Sent me off on a tangent to find an SSR Main Shaft (Discontinued by GM).

Very nice craftsmanship. I love the white with red guts but I would be afraid a plain white will take away from the lines of the car. Pearl would help with the lines but I don't like pearl white.
Have you ever considerd a fine metalic silver with red guts?
