Here are some photos of the car. It a '76 Olds 442. I bought it and want ro restore it. The car is pretty solid. Very small rust spot in the floor. Interior is factory complete needs restoration. Bumpers are nice and just need polishing. Quarter panels are in great shape. The car didn't had any accidents, it is complete with a buick 455 engine and a TH350 transmission. Tell me what you think about it.

The Buick 455 is a great engine but this is an Oldsmobile site. We think you ought to sell the Buick and find an Oldsmobile 455. They are very pretty cars with great ride and handling. A 350 was standard; I think a 455 was optional. If you keep the Buick the eventual value of the car at resale will be reduced.

 

I moved your thread to the non-Olds powered section. The term restore is pretty broad, what are your plans. While it came with a Buick engine, its not the end of the world if it runs well.

 

I think you did alright buick/olds it's your car you decide what you want.I like it.

 

These are great cars to restore...and, the beauty of this generation of "A" bodies is that you can restore it any way you want without having to be too concerned about jeopardizing resale value! I've seen some amazing builds and powerplants installed that would impress even the pre-'73 crowd. Added bonus...swivel buckets are awesome!

 

Maybe you could put out a list of parts you need. I have a complete Olds 307 pull from a 84 Regency 98, also have a bare 403 block with rods and crank. Have complete interior from a 84 Delta 88, not sure what would be relevant to a 77, but you never know.

 

Great car for a rescue ! I agree with crimsoncolby, this era of car you can do your own desire on type of restoration. Aside from the passenger side that had something drag against it... The rest of the exterior seems relatively rust free.

I have a core olds 350 for that period torn down I would sell ya. Put an edlebrock top end on it, higher compression pistons... If it was a 455 car, finding a core olds 455 isn't to hard.

Interior pieces is what is difficult. Lower door panels are available reproduced, but not exactly the same... Trim pieces you bascially will have to find from guys on here and re dye them if yours are getting crumbly.

Save the car ! Cutlass S look better with that fast back and arrow front end !

If you are going to replace the vinyl top ( i did and recommend). Make sure you get the one for a Cutlass S. I bought one for the supreme initially, by the time the body shop got to that point I could return it... So here I sit with it..
