1968 Olds 98 replacement hood hinges

The hood hinges (driver side) on my 1068 Olds 98 is cracked and bent. Mechanic had to remove the spring so I could shut the hood. Any recommendations where I could get used hinges or hinges from another GM car that could fit directly or with some modification

Hopefully someone can chime in with part numbers and an interchange.

I've got a 1968 Olds 98 parts car. I'll check the hood hinges/springs on it to see if they are good. I know there was another member here who parted out a 1968 Olds 98 in the not too distant past. John

The ONLY hinges that work are 1968 Oldsmobile, period. Any model except Toro uses the same hinges. Of course, since these also fit Cutlass/442, most big car hinges have been grabbed long ago.

So true Joe… also note the early ‘68 versions only have 2 bolt holes for hood to hinge mounting… later ones have 3. I think you can interchange them but I’ve not personally tried to.

That was me. I still have the roller, and a couple loose parts. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...-frame-182839/
If John doesn't have what you need, I believe I may still have the hinges, I'll be in the shop today and try to lay eyes on them.

Mark, if you have a good one that's loose and ready to ship offer it to Duke. I still have the engine in my parts car so it would be nice to keep the hood functional until I get around to pulling the engine. John

Years ago we all would have replaced the hinge and pitched the old broken one.
I'd suggest offering your old broken hinge in the parts section for shipping cost. Someone will probably need it and a competent welder might be able to repair that one up or hoodhingerepair might be able to rebuild it.

Yeah, that's a big hood to have to move around with no help. I spoke to Duke yesterday, we're all set. Thanks
