My 98 has the original, stock 350 - 4bbl. Low mileage, original condition. The resonator has rusted through and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on sourcing a replacement? Keeping things stock looking and/or OEM is a must for me.

There were three different resonator part numbers used on the Ninety Eight line for 1979. 561038, 561040, and 562030, depending on engine and other options.

Joe's information was very helpful. I gave the GM/Olds part number (561038) to a local exhaust specialist. He fed it into his computer database and came up with nothing. But, he told me not to worry. Now that he knows of the original specs, if he cannot locate an OEM (doubtful) he'll be able to put together a reasonable facsimile of an original resonator. No hurry here....the car is in winter hybernation now until spring, and he said he'd take the winter to do more research and searching for me. I'll reach out to him in the spring and see what he can create for me.
