My son was cruising ebay over the weekend and stumbled onto this!

Drove up to the Detroit area and brought it home.

Once we had it unloaded we cleaned off the id plate to see what we had...

Is this the "S" motor I've heard tell of? What is it that makes this motor different from the others if it is, in fact what I think it is?

"S" code 394 engines were standard on '62-'64 Starfires and optional for 88, Super 88, and 98. The "S" basically indicates the engine to be 10.5:1 compression.
