Need your input on wheel adapters!

I recently ran across a nice set of 80's chrome & black rally wheels with tires, so I had to bring them home to put on the 98. Little did I know they had a different bolt pattern and are useless to me unless I consider using wheel adapters to change the pattern from 5" down to 4 3/4".

I've had a few people warn me against using adapters, saying that they fail and cause accidents, I want to be fully informed before I let the set go or proceed to try adapers.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

You will get the same answer here. Sell those, and get what you need, or trade for them. It's your safest bet. Nice looking wheels, sorry they don't fit.

Thank you, its a '66. I do have the wheels back for sale on a local TN statewide website, www.golsn.com. Thanks to everyone for their knowledge and comments!
