I need your input for new parts! C.O.!

Hello everyone, I have a question for you. The company I work for wants to come up with more product Ideas, I brought up the idea of manufacturing something for the Oldsmobile community. The people I work with certainly had nothing against this. I'm wondering if there's something out there that you guys have wanted to see built for the Oldsmobile engine, or Oldsmobile car. That hasnt been produced yet. I am not trying to advertise, but the company I work for is Heath Diesel, and if you want to see what we offer on a daily basis, feel free to check out our website. Our products are our own design, but don't let the name fool you, this doesn't have to have anything to do with a diesel!

As an example. Down the road I will probably have an exclusive camshaft design that we will be offering once we get a chance to run some numbers in our engine room. This is possible because I will be using my vehicle as a guinea pig. I am very excited about this its an opportunity most people don't get and with cam technology getting better all the time I see no reason not to.

I want to hear all your ideas, this can be anything from an improved oil fill tube, to a redesigned crankshaft. I wont say anything is possible, but many things could be with enough of a driving force behind it. I thank you all for your input in advance! I will do my best to bring the ideas of the Oldsmobile community to life!

What a cool idea.
I would think guys will be taking off
maw helmets and putting on thinking caps.

How about disc brake rotors for the B body
cars. 88's & 98's, Delmonts and such?
66-71? Is that right guys?

How about a nice stroker crank with a 3.75" stroke for the 350 motors ,nobody makes any cranks for the 350 without it being really $$$$ .Doesn't have to be forged it could be a nodular cast iron.just an idea.We could easily build a nice 400 small block motor out of the gas blocks.just one idea

No not really ,not an Olds specialist ,BHP is the name of it ,I know people that have had work done there that were satisfied but not sure you'd want to ship a motor all the way from Montreal just to have it done by them.

I think this has been mentioned before but can someone design an Oldsmobile head that flows or is designed like LS heads?

I like these ideas! I will bring up everything in our next meeting. Hopefully we will be able to make something a reality, you never know though, also everyone I work with has to agree on something for it to proceed to the next stage.

this might be impossible but how about patch panels for the 64 f85/cutlass/442 and other parts that seem not to exist ????

How about a blower motor for the heater/AC that puts out more air.
In the engine I'd look for lightweight parts or more fuel efficient. Seems like price is a big deal with anything Oldsmobile.

And rear quarter panels for 4 doors would be nice to.

I love the input guys, I can tell you the patch panels wont be possible, however I have a couple phone calls to make about the gear sets, that being the case if it is possible, probably very expensive.

I have to sleeve money for awhile, to go through my engine again, but I can pretty much promise you guys I will have a one of a kind style camshaft. im pretty excited for that

Here's a couple of items to try on:

1. Crankcase ventilation tube for the '68 4-4-2. Unique to that year, no one currently makes them, I see a request for one every once in awhile so I don't know if the demand would be there.

2. Dashpot assembly - seems these were used for several years on 455/400/350 engines - again, seemingly hard to find and I do see a request for one more often than I do the vent tube.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Ok heres my input. There seems to be alot of repo stuff for just about all years except 67, How about repo bumpers for 67? Apparently not available through anyone. Most years can get repo dash harness with fuse block, 67 fuse block is not available, need to find a good used one and send it in to get the harness made. And i agree with CopperCutlass good STRONG connecting rods for 67 and forged pistons.
Thanks

I'd ask for connecting rods for small blocks before we start wishing for cranks; 68-72 cranks are nodular anyway. More piston options would always be a nice thing too.

The "KM" stamped 2 groove water pump pulley for 72' SBO 350. There was a link in another CO post for company that was producing them but they "Do not ship to Canada".

There's lots of rods available that can be used, any length you want you just have to have the machining done on the crankshaft ,BUT no one has a longer stroke crank available at a reasonable cost, and depending on what bore you want to go with you can use Chevy 400 pistons ,Probe has a piston that combined with a 6" Chevy rod is almost a drop in ,HorsepowerTV used that one in their 350 build.
